Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi has recently issued Recruitment Notification 2014 for LDC (Lower Division Clerk) & Assistant vacancies through advertisement: 06/13. As per the notification, the last date for submission of the form is 14th February, 2014. Selection for both of these two positions would be done through a written exam, though the date for Cabinet Secretariat LDC & Assistants Exam 2014 has not been declared at this stage.

What is Cabinet Secretariat:
Cabinet Secretariat is the power house in India - under the direct charge of the Prime Minister, it is responsible for the administration of the Govt. of India.
Situated on Raisina Hill, New Delhi, Cabinet Secretariat Building consists of two buildings: the North Block and the South Block.
The South Block houses the Prime Minister Office, Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of External Affairs. The North Block houses the Ministry of Finance and the Home Ministry. Both the buildings flank the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Secretariat assists in decision-making in Government by ensuring Inter-Ministerial coordination, ironing out differences amongst Ministries/ Departments and evolving consensus through the instrumentality of the standing/ adhoc Committees of Secretaries.

Salary for Lower Division Clerk:
PB- 1 Rs. 5200 – 20200/- Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- + Special allowance of 15% of basic pay.
Salary for Assistant:
PB-2 Rs.9300-34,800 Grade pay Rs. 4600/= + Special allowance of 15% of basic pay.
Salary for Lower Division Clerk:
PB- 1 Rs. 5200 – 20200/- Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- + Special allowance of 15% of basic pay.

Eligibility for Cabinet Secretariat LDC & Assistants:
Eligibility for Lower Division Clerk:Age: (as on 14.02.2014): Min: 18 years, Max 27 years.
Academic Qualification Eligibility:
i) Class-XII pass.
ii) Typing speed: 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi.(on computer only)
Age: (as on 14.02.2014): Max 30 years.
Academic Qualification Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree and working knowledge of computers.
All the qualifications should be from a recognized Institution or University or Board.

Selection Process for these two positions in Cabinet Secretariat is as per follows:
For Lower Division Clerk:
Written test of 200 marks (Objective only) to be answered in 2 hours + Typing test + Interview.
For Assistants:
Written test of 400 marks (Both Objective & Descriptive) to be answered in 6 hours + Interview.
