ISRO Scientist/Engineers Exam pattern/Papers/Books

February 14, 2013

ISRO Scientist Engineers Exam pattern, Papers & Books
ISRO Scientist/Engineers Exam 2013 is just round the corner and this blog article is being made to provide you the prep materials for ISRO Scientist/Engineers written exam 2013- the sample papers as well as books along with a discussion on the exam pattern/format. If you have not applied so far for the exam and would like to know about it, please visit my earlier blog post titled: ISRO Recruitment 2013 Scientists/Engineers Notification Eligibility Forms

ISRO Exam pattern for Scientist/Engineers:
This was the most difficult thing to find – I was not able to find any single website which gives the ISRO Exam picture in totality, let alone the ISRO exam notification, which says only this much about the ISRO selection process: there would be a written test, followed by interview for those shortlisted from the written test.

However, based on the feedback posted in different web forums, the exam pattern of ISRO written test was found as follows
Total questions: 80
Time: 90 minutes
Marking: +3 for correct answer -1 for wrong.
There is only one section and the questions would be your branch-specific.

Is there any syllabus for ISRO exam?
No. No syllabus has been prescribed by ISRO for the written test. But most of the people who appeared in the ISRO written test and left feedback on these forums said that GATE exam syllabus can be used in your preparation for the ISRO written test as well as for the interview. The questions asked were reported to be conceptual and therefore, you have to dig your basics in your area of specialization.
