IAF (Indian Air Force) is on a recruiting spree – while it had brought out notification for its flying branches (Short Service Commission) for graduates & engineers last week, today it has come out with notification for its ground duty branches (Both Permanent & Short Service Commission) for graduates & post-graduates. The notification is for Admin & Logistics, Accounts, Meteorology & Education branches of IAF and both male/ female candidates can appear for the selection test.
On being selected in IAF, the persons would undergo a 1-year training program from January 2010 at Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, subsequent to successful completion of which he/she would be absorbed in IAF as a Flying Officer. Salary being offered by IAF is in the pay-scale of Rs. 15,600-39,100 along with other benefits.

Final year students can also apply (with the principal of the institute certifying the likely date of final result), provided that they can produce the proof of passing the exam by 15th December, 2009.

Print the same in A4 size paper. Fill the same, superscribe the envelope with name of the course applied for as given below:
Send it to your first choice of CET test centres listed below, along with following attachment:
2 unattested passport size photographs (similar to the one pasted on application).
2 self-addressed envelope (size-23x10cm), with postage stamp of Rs.27/= pasted on each.
Last date for receipt of completed application is 13th April, 2009 (For remote areas: 20th April, 2009).

Written Test: called as Common Entrance Test (CET) on 31st May, 2009.
SSB Interview Stage-1 & Stage-2 at AFSB Dehradun, Mysore, Varanasi.
Medical Examination at AFCME, New Delhi or IAM, Bangalore.
IAF CET Exam Pattern & Study materials:
Pattern of IAF CET Exam is as below, consisting of two parts:
Paper -I: English & General knowledge - Objective type (multiple choice) questions.
30 Questions in 20 Minutes
Paper-II: English test - Descriptive type questions.
Three Questions in 30 minutes - One Comprehension passage with 5 Questions, one letter writing Question and One paragraph writing Question.
