If you had gone through my two previous posts on NAC-Tech test (what is NAC-Tech test & What is the test pattern of NAC-Tech test), than it must have given you enough idea of the exam.
This blog post is aimed to get you started on the exam – first by telling you how to apply for it and than how to find the study materials to prepare for the NAC-Tech test.
At first, let me tell you that NAC-Tech test is a very new test (launched w.e.f. January, 2008) and hence is still evolving. So some of the information is not available at this present moment, as NASSCOM is still concretizing the NAC-Tech test delivery plan.
Eligibility for NAC-Tech test:
1. You need to be a Final or Pre-final year BE, B.Tech., MCA, M.Sc.-IT student.
2. You should have scored minimum 60 % aggregate in Class-10, Class-12 and ensuing graduation. This requirement of consistent aggregate of 60 % or above is an industry preference.
How to apply to NAC-Tech test:
As said before, NAC-Tech test is a relatively new test and is still being held in many places for the first time. NASSCOM has till date (till 3rd August, 2008) not updated the facility to apply on-line in their website.
However, you may keep on checking following site for on-line application to NAC-Tech test:

Till you can apply online yourself, your institute has to contact MeritTrac (who conducts the NAC-Tech test on behalf of NASSCOM) and request it to organize the test for your institute (as organized for Rayat – Bahra group of institutes, Chandigarh on 15-17th April, 2008).
After MeritTrac agrees to organize the test for the institute, Registration Process for NAC-Tech Certification is as below:
1.0 NAC-Tech Test fee of Rs. 660 /= per student has to be sent through Cheque/D.D. in the name of MeritTrac Services Pvt. Ltd. payable at Bangalore.
2.0 Merittrac would announce Test date & registration date and issue NASSCOM Registration Login ID's and Passwords to Colleges. Ids will be issued to Colleges only after prior payment by the college for NAC-TECH.
3.0 Merittrac shares College details with NASSCOM.
4.0 Merittrac checks on the infrastructure of the college in case of online testing and certify college as NASSCOM Certified Test Center.
5.0 Upon Merittrac Certification, the name of the College will be uploaded into NASSCOM portal as a certified venue.
6.0 Candidates should Login to NASSCOM website and Register themselves and take a print out of Hall Ticket.
7.0 Merittrac to conduct test on the prescribed date.
How to prepare for NAC-Tech test:
As said, NAC-Tech test is still evolving and not much study materials are available on the net or in the book store. Till NAC-Tech test matures and more study materials are available on the net as well as recommended books for the NAC-Tech test becomes available on the market, I would recommend you following study materials:

This zipped folder contains three pdf files containing one question set in each file. Two question sets are for Mandatory Paper of NAC-Tech test, while one set is for the Optional paper.
The sample paper gives you enough information on what is the question pattern of the NAC-Tech test of both test parts: Mandatory Paper as well as Optional paper. As you would find after going through the questions, they are very simple and hence not much preparation is required.
2.0 Take the NAC-Tech diagnostic test:
Diagnostic NAC-Tech test helps you prepare for the Mandatory Paper (Part-A) of the actual NAC-Tech test and is organized online. You will get a feedback report after taking the test, which you can print on-line on the website. From the score you achieve, you would know your area of strength/weakness and hence improve upon.
